How to Disable Cross-Platform Play- Access the Main Menu
Make sure you’re on the home screen of MLB The Show 26, where you can pick modes like Diamond Dynasty, Road to the Show, or Franchise. You cannot change crossplay while inside a specific mode. - Go to Your Profile
Press Up on your controller to highlight your User Profile or Gamer Tag icon in the top-left corner of the screen. Adjust Crossplay Settings
In your Universal Profile, look for the Crossplay toggle and switch it off. Tip: If the toggle is greyed out, you’re probably trying to access it from inside a game mode. Exit back to the main menu first.
Platform-Specific Notes- Xbox (Series X|S, One):
If the in-game toggle isn’t available, you can disable crossplay through system settings:- Press the Xbox button → go to Profile & system > Settings > Account.
- Choose Privacy & online safety → Xbox Privacy > View details & customize > Communication & multiplayer.
- Set “You can join cross-network play” to Block.
- Nintendo Switch:
The toggle might appear locked. Ensure you’ve fully exited all active game modes and are on the very first main menu screen before changing the setting.
What to Expect After Disabling CrossplayTurning off cross-platform play limits your matchmaking pool to players on your console who also have crossplay turned off. This can significantly increase wait times in online modes, so plan accordingly.
Disabling crossplay is handy if you want a purely platform-specific experience, but keep in mind it may slow down matchmaking. Always toggle it from the main menu to avoid greyed-out settings.
